PAVING ANNOUNCED FOR HIGHWAY NO. 35

Released on July 15, 1998

Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced

16.5 km of paving on Highway No. 35 from Tribune to Colgate.

"This $2.1 million project will begin in mid August and is planned for

completion in late October," Bradley said.

Carmacks Construction Ltd. was awarded the paving project as the

lowest of seven bidders. An estimated 55 jobs will be used to

complete the project. This project is cost-shared with the federal

government as part of the Canada-Saskatchewan Agri-Infrastructure

Program.

"With a $219 million department budget this year, it is a very busy

construction and maintenance season," Bradley said. "As we work to

improve Saskatchewan highways, people are urged to drive carefully and

follow the 60 km speed limit in construction zones."
