ANOTHER SASKATCHEWAN MANUFACTURER EXPANDS

Released on August 9, 1996

Deputy Premier and Economic Development Minister Dwain Lingenfelter
said today the expansion of Doepker Industries proves once again that
rural Saskatchewan manufacturers can compete in the global market.
Doepker Industries Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of highway trailers
in Western Canada, and is located in Annaheim.

Lingenfelter said that under the Partnership for Growth economic
strategy, government, business and communities are working together to
create an environment that encourages investment and growth.

"One of Doepker's keys to success is a commitment to the latest
technology and to the highest quality standards," Lingenfelter said.
"In fact, Doepker Industries was the first trailer manufacturer in
Canada to have its Quality Assurance Program registered to the ISO 9002
standard, which is a signal to world-wide buyers that Doepker products
meet the highest international standards."

The company held a grand opening today to celebrate the completed
expansion of 31,000 square feet of production and office space at
Annaheim in 1996, and the opening of a 22,500 square foot plant in
Moose Jaw in 1995.

"Under Partnership for Growth, we are supporting and encouraging growth
and diversification through measures such as targeted tax reductions on
manufacturing inputs," Lingenfelter said. "Saskatchewan has the lowest
corporate income tax in Western Canada for manufacturers and
processors."

Doepker, which started in 1948 as a repair shop, now operates 87,000
square feet of production capacity with up to 325 staff, modern
equipment, a state-of-the-industry paint department, and computer
assisted drafting and design. Its products are marketed throughout
Western Canada and Ontario to customers ranging from single operators
to large multinational fleets.
