LINGENFELTER SUPPORTS FILM INDUSTRY AT AMERICAN FILM MARKET

Released on February 27, 1995

Economic Development Minister Dwain Lingenfelter is in Los Angeles
today to support the Saskatchewan film industry at the American Film
Market.

Lingenfelter said the American Film Market is the largest market in the
world for low-budget feature films. While in Los Angeles,
Lingenfelter also is attending the premiere of Decoy, a Minds Eye
Pictures-Buffalo Films feature film which was shot on location in
Saskatchewan.

"Saskatchewan's film and video industry has proven its capability to
participate locally, nationally, and internationally and has attracted
significant out-of-province investment," Lingenfelter said. "The
industry generated more than $33 million in economic activity last year
and production activity is expected to create about 1,200 employment
opportunities for Saskatchewan people over the next three years."

"Incredible opportunity exists for our province in respect to producing
entertainment products for a worldwide audience," said Kevin Dewalt,
president of Minds Eye Pictures. "Thanks to the co-operation of both
the provincial government and to our many locations throughout
Saskatchewan used for the shooting of our feature film Decoy, Mind's
Eye anticipates a very strong production year, certainly doubling last
year's volume."
"As SaskFilm's representative I am pleased that Mr. Lingenfelter has
agreed to attend the American Film Market to help facilitate the high
level partnerships that we have been cultivating in the last few
years," said Mark Prasuhn, general manager, Saskatchewan Film and Video
Development Corporation (SaskFilm). "Thousands of buyers and sellers
from around the world come together at this event and the minister is
helping reinforce our message that Saskatchewan is a great place to
shoot movies and to do business."

Also attending the film market and premiere of Decoy are: Kevin Dewalt
and other representatives of Minds Eye Pictures; Mark Prasuhn of
SaskFilm; Chief Harry Cook from Kitsaki Development Corporation; Chief
Alphonse Bird, chief of the Prince Albert Grand Council; Zach Douglas,
president of Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation; and, senior
representatives of the Royal Bank.
