WRIGHT NAMED PRESIDENT OF SGI

Released on April 10, 1995

Ed Tchorzewski, minister responsible for SGI, today announced that John
Wright has been appointed president of Saskatchewan Government
Insurance (SGI).

Wright will assume his new duties April 17.

"We are very pleased that SGI has been able to attract John Wright as
president," Tchorzewski said. "As deputy minister of finance, Wright
played a central role in managing the province's finances and helping
the government to deliver a balanced budget. I know that he will bring
the same efficiency and quality management skills to SGI."

Wright joined the department of finance in 1977 as an economist in the
taxation and fiscal policy branch. He assumed progressively more
senior positions and has served as deputy minister of finance since
May, 1990. Wright earned a BA (Honors) in Economics from the
University of Western Ontario and an MA in Economics from the
University of Alberta.

The presidency of SGI became vacant last October when Bill Heidt
resigned to accept employment at Crown Life Insurance.
