Vaccine Statistics

COVID-19 Vaccinations and Breakthrough Infections

  • The breakthrough analysis for each month is based on cases that we reported in that month. The hospitalization, ICU and death data included in the analysis are for those cases. So, for example, if a case who was reported in September died in October, that death would not be included in the October cases breakthrough analysis; however, it has been accounted for in the daily dashboard posted online.
  • This is the standard methodology for all breakthrough reports, in order to create a month-to-month data set that can be compared. This is a reporting tool to assist us to understand the impact of vaccinations on COVID-19 cases.
  • As of the week of February 7, deaths due to a clinically-compatible COVID-19 illness as confirmed by public health officials will be reported weekly on Thursdays.
