The road use charge is an annual charge on Class LV electric vehicles registered in Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) collects the charge at the time of registration. In the event of a shortened registration period, SGI will prorate the charge or provide refunds as required.
Tax Rates:
Prior to June 1, 2025: $150
June 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026: $300
Effective January 1, 2027, the road use charge will be indexed annually to the national rate of inflation. The charge will be posted in late fall.
