Clubroot Distribution in Saskatchewan

The 2025 Clubroot Distribution Map shows rural municipalities (RMs) in Saskatchewan where clubroot has been detected since its first confirmation in 2008.

The map remains unchanged from 2024, as no new cases were confirmed in 2025 through the Saskatchewan Clubroot Monitoring Program. In 2025, no new fields with visible clubroot symptoms and no new fields with clubroot pathogen DNA were confirmed.

The program surveyed 235 fields across 152 RMs through the general canola disease survey (201 fields) and a voluntary on-farm soil testing program (34 fields), with all surveys conducted on a permission basis under The Plant Health Act. Current totals remain at 82 fields with confirmed visible symptoms and 45 fields confirmed through soil DNA testing (2008-25).

Delivered in partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture and SaskOilseeds, the program underscores that clubroot continues to pose a risk to canola production on the Canadian prairies, highlighting the importance of scouting, soil testing, crop rotation, and implementation of resistant cultivars. Through ongoing monitoring and collaboration, Saskatchewan aims to protect crop health and maintain strong yields.
