CIC President Stepping Down

Released on June 27, 2014

After four years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Crown Investments Corporation (CIC), R.W. (Dick) Carter is stepping down to pursue other interests.

Carter was appointed to head CIC in August of 2010.  His four years as President and CEO included unprecedented growth and infrastructure renewal as the crown sector worked to respond to the needs of Saskatchewan’s growing economy and population, through projects like SaskPower’s Boundary Dam Integrated Carbon Capture and Storage project, SaskEnergy’s expansion of the natural gas network, and SaskTel’s expansion of the new fibre optic network.

“It has been an exciting time and I am very proud of the Crowns’ record of achievement during a time of fantastic growth for the province,” Carter said.  “Now it’s time for me to adopt a somewhat slower pace, and try some new things.”

Crown Investments Corporation Minister Don McMorris thanked Mr. Carter for his service to the province, and wishes him the best in his future pursuits.

“It has been a true pleasure and an honour to work with Dick over the years,” McMorris said.  “Government is going to miss his steady hand, and I know that I will miss his straightforward advice, his insights into the business world, and his dedication to serving the people of Saskatchewan.”

Carter will officially step down at the end of August this year.  The government will begin the search for a new President and CEO for CIC immediately.
