Nearly 60 Projects on the Slate

You're more likely to be driving through an Orange Zone these days with nearly 60 highway construction projects now on the slate involving crossing rivers, moving earth and laying blacktop.

"Repairs to Highway 22 near Southey and construction of the new Dalmeny Access road are among about 20 new projects expected to start this week," Highways and Infrastructure Minister Don McMorris said. "There is a significant amount of work being done which will help create a safer ride for motorists in the province."

New activity expected to be underway for this update period includes bridge construction at Highway 1 and Pinkie Road, spot sealing on Highway 9 north of Yorkton, patching on Highway 4 near Biggar, surfacing work on Highway 13 near Stoughton, culvert installation under Highway 15 northwest of Melville, bridge deck repair on Highway 106 in northern Saskatchewan and some paving east of the Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park on Highway 261.

Remember to obey flag persons, electronic message boards relating to road work or potential detours and slow to 60 km/hr when passing highway workers and equipment.
