Motorists are advised to be aware of upcoming and ongoing provincial highway construction projects while travelling throughout Saskatchewan.
"It's always important to be cautious and alert when approaching any road construction and obey all flag persons and slow to 60 km/hr when passing highway workers and equipment," Highways and Infrastructure Minister Jim Reiter said. "This weekly snapshot, along with the Highway Hotline will help motorists plan the safest and most efficient routes before travelling and to keep Orange Zone safety in mind."
New activity expected to be underway includes construction of the sub-grade for a truck climbing lane and truck pull out on Highway 4 south of the Sask Landing Bridge. For more details and a list of other long-term projects in various stages of construction or progress, please see the attached backgrounder.
For emergency road closures due to severe weather, flooding or forest fires, along with other maintenance activities, motorists and the media are encouraged to check the Highway Hotline.
