1. Final Clinical Placement Bursary
The Ministry of Health's Final Clinical Placement Bursary is offered to students in an eligible health discipline that requires the completion of a final clinical placement as part of training.
The fall 2023 application process has now closed. Any applications received after March 1, 2024, will not be accepted.
The spring 2024 callout has not been determined. Please continue to visit the website for updates.
2. Application Process
Applications must be received through the hhr@health.gov.sk.ca email address. We no longer accept paper copies or faxed copies.
If approved for the Clinical Placement Bursary, applicants will receive the Agreement by email within four weeks from date completed application was received with instructions on how to sign and return. Applicants who are not approved for the bursary, will receive an email within six weeks of completed application being received. Application periods and deadlines vary each year.
3. Other Bursaries, Scholarships and Awards
Applications are open for the Rural and Remote Recruitment Incentive of up to $50,000 for individuals hired into high priority classifications in rural and remote locations. More information about this and other incentive programs can be found at Incentives for Health Care Professionals.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency also provide Nursing and Allied Health Bursaries with a Return-in-Service for Saskatchewan residents.
- You can apply directly to the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency for the bursary. If you receive a Return-in-Service bursary from one of these employers, you can expect to sign an agreement with them.

Other Provincial Student Financial Assistance Programs
- The Graduate Retention Program provides a rebate up to $20,000 of tuition fees paid by eligible graduates who live in Saskatchewan and who file a Saskatchewan income tax return.
- The Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship for new grade 12 graduates.
- The Saskatchewan Advantage Grant for Education Savings (SAGES). The SAGES is intended to help Saskatchewan families save for their children's post-secondary education.
- The Saskatchewan Student Loans Forgiveness Program for nurses and nurse practitioners who locate in under-served rural and remote communities.
