Certificate of Divorce
A certificate of divorce is proof that you are legally divorced. You may come across a number of situations where you need to present a copy of your certificate of divorce.
1. Guidance
You may require a certified copy of a certificate of your divorce for a number of reasons, such as to obtain a marriage licence, immigration, banking or pension splitting.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally divorced and not just separated from your spouse in order to obtain a copy of your certificate of divorce.
3. How to Order
A certified copy of a certificate of divorce may be obtained by writing to, or attending in person at, the court house where the divorce was granted. To locate the file, the court staff need the names of the parties, the court file number and the approximate year of commencement of the divorce proceedings. The court file number is located at the top of every court document concerning your divorce.
The fee for a certified copy of a certificate of divorce is $10.
You may be required to provide photo ID to look at your file.
In exceptional circumstances and to accommodate last-minute emergencies, the Local Registrar or Deputy Local Registrar in one location can fax a certificate of divorce to a Local Registrar or Deputy Local Registrar in another location, who will then certify the document for the client.

Contact the Saskatchewan court house where your divorce was granted.
