With more than 70,000 social media fans across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, the Saskatchewanderer is a ‘must follow’ for many Saskatchewan residents and tourists. As the program continues into 2018, Wanderer hopefuls can submit applications starting on Monday, October 2 at noon.Andrew Hiltz - whose first name literally spells ‘wander’ - brought his own flavour to the program as the 2017 Saskatchewanderer.
“I’ve lost count of how many incredible people I’ve met and the sights around this province have continued to blow me away,” Hiltz said. “I cannot express how grateful I am for the opportunity to have been a part of this program and wish I could rewind the clock to do it all over again. Great year. Great people. Great job!”
The Saskatchewanderer program partners - Tourism Saskatchewan and the Ministries of Agriculture, Economy and Parks, Culture and Sport – have been thrilled with Andrew’s take on the role and are excited to support the next Wanderer as they showcase the best of living, working and playing in Saskatchewan through a whole new perspective.
“Tourism Saskatchewan is grateful to Andrew Hiltz for his hard work and dedication that have made the 2017 Saskatchewanderer program a resounding success,” Minister Responsible for Tourism Saskatchewan Steven Bonk said. “Andrew capitalized on social media to share Saskatchewan stories through words, photographs and video, and spread the news that our province is a great place to live, work and visit.”
CAA Saskatchewan has been a proud supporter of the Saskatchewanderer program since its inception in 2011. The Wanderer’s job of promoting Saskatchewan as the best place to live, work and play will continue to be supported by CAA through the Saskatchewanderer vehicle, gas vouchers and a valued CAA membership.
“We are pleased to return as the official sponsor of the Saskatchewanderer program,” CAA Saskatchewan President and CEO Fred Titanich said. “The 2018 Saskatchewanderer will be safe and secure to enjoy the CAA membership rewards for travel, insurance, automotive, roadside assistance and more. Each applicant is required to shoot, edit and submit their own original video explaining why they should become the next Saskatchewanderer. Applications will be accepted until noon on Friday, November 10, 2017 at www.saskatchewanderer.ca/apply.
