The goal of this program is to help ensure intensive livestock operations develop environmentally sound production practices for a safe, responsible industry.
The Ministry of Agriculture's personnel provide applicants with technical support for facility design, nuisance and pollution control, waste management and public process. Applications may be referred to agencies inside and outside government to identify water-protection issues that require resolution.
In keeping with The Agricultural Operations Act, this program also supports operators' efforts to obtain approval for waste storage and waste management plans.
