He has extensive experience related to farm equipment, soil fertility, enhanced production efficiency and environmental stewardship. Kim has more than 25 years of experience in agricultural research and production practices. He has a master of science in agricultural and environmental engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, focused on soil and water.

Taylor Lenard, AAg, Range Management Extension Specialist

Taylor is excited to help producers make the most of their grasslands. As range management extension specialist, Taylor Lenard is a source of information for producers and the agriculture industry on forage selection, establishment, renovation and grazing management. Taylor grew up on a grain farm just outside of Tisdale, Saskatchewan and also has experience working in the pastures, managing land and has a bachelor of science in agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan, focused on animal science.

Tessa Thomas, BSA, AAg, Livestock and Feed Extension Specialist

Tessa is passionate about helping producers to control their controllables and make educated choices when it comes to their livestock and feed decisions. As a Livestock and Feed Extension Specialist, she can assist with inquiries regarding livestock production, management and nutrition, including feed and water testing and ration building. Tessa has many years of experience in the livestock industry from being raised on a farm with a cow-calf operation. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in animal science and minoring in agribusiness.

Karen Smith, PAg, Agriculture Programs Specialist

Karen Smith
Karen enjoys assisting producers in identifying programs that will benefit their operations to ensure their long term success. As an agriculture programs specialist, she offers comprehensive information on programs under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership and encourages the adoption of beneficial management practices to support and build public trust. Karen grew up on a grain farm in the Northeast part of the province and has spent the majority of her career working in the public sector. She obtained her bachelor of science in agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan.

Dean Cortus, PAg, Range Management Extension Specialist

Dean Cortus
Dean enjoys working with livestock producers to develop sustainable strategies for their tame forage and pasture operations. As a range management extension specialist, Dean assists producers in forage production and pasture management. Dean has over 20 years of experience in the public sector working in Crown land management and holds a bachelor of science in agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan.

Teresa Casavant, Regional Services Representative

Teresa Casavant
Teresa's focus on customer service excellence makes her an essential part of the Tisdale office. As the first point of contact, she assesses internal and external client needs to make sure they find what they need in an efficient and effective manner. Teresa has a certificate in business administration from SIAST.

Judy Ewen, Administrative Assistant

Judy was raised on a purebred Charolais operation in southwest Saskatchewan and appreciates the farming lifestyle. She provides front-line customer service for producers and administrative support for the Tisdale office, to help everyone find solutions in the ever-changing agriculture sector. Judy obtained her diploma in agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan and has a certificate in office and legal administration.
