Free Fishing Weekends
Free fishing weekends are July 8 to 9, 2017 and February 17 to 19, 2018.
- Regular angling limits and all other sport fishing laws remain in effect.
- The free fishing weekend does not apply in national parks.
- Anyone planning to take fish out of the province must buy a licence.
Competitive Fishing Events
Competitive Fishing Event Standard Requirements outline the standard requirements that exempt most competitive fishing events from licensing, where 25 or more participants angle for prizes or money.
Submit a Competitive Fishing Event Notification Form if you are organizing a competitive fishing event that meets the standard requirements.
Submit a Competitive Fishing Event Application Form if you are organizing a competitive fishing event that does not meet the standard requirements.
Submit a Competitive Fishing Event Summary Form after the event is completed.
