Check Application Processing Times for SINP

The SINP processing time information is updated every quarter (every three months). It shows the time it has taken to process an application after we receive a complete application package in the most recent quarter. This time is measured in weeks for each category. Processing times can change at any time.

The processing times below show the average time (in weeks; based on business days), that it takes for 80 per cent of applications to be processed. This time is measured from when the complete application is received to when it's processed. The fastest and slowest 10 per cent of applications are considered outliers and are removed from the averages below.

These processing times are an average based on the past quarter (or three months). They may not tell you precise processing times for future applications.

International Skilled Worker

The SINP's goal is to process all International Skilled Worker and Saskatchewan Experience applications within sixteen weeks. In order to process an application, we must have all information and supporting documents.

Processing times for the International Skilled Worker category and Saskatchewan Experience category are calculated for applications that are finalized, meaning the decision on the file is:

  • Nominated;
  • Returned; or
  • Ineligible.

Entrepreneur and Farm

The SINP's goal is to process all Entrepreneur and Farm category applications, including Entrepreneur Nomination requests within twelve weeks, and all Good Faith Deposit Return requests within 24 weeks.

**Farm Owners and Operators category processing times are calculated from the date we confirm receipt of a complete application, including the application processing fee and third-party report, to the date we make a final decision on the application.

Job Approval Process

The SINP Job Approval Letter is a pre-approved authorization for an employer to hire a foreign worker through the SINP. Employer Services will assess each Job Approval Form to determine if the position(s) meets SINP criteria. Employer Services branch's goal is to process Job Approval Forms within six weeks. In order to process an application, we must have all information and supporting documents.

If the submitted position meets Employer Service's criteria the position will be approved. Once it's approved, the employer can add a candidate's name to the position, creating a Candidate Specific Job Approval Letter which must be provided to the candidate for inclusion in the SINP application.
