We've all had that experience dealing with the government: confusing forms, frustrating wait times, uncertainty about when you'll actually hear back or if your application will be approved. If you don't hear back, your busy day-time schedule is disrupted to call in and track it down, possibly multiple times. It's a cumbersome process. We know it and we’re starting to do something about it.
We're investing in digital government services to make it faster and easier for you to get the information you need and to get things done with the Government of Saskatchewan. It’s a big job! We have over 250 services and support tools to design but there are a few of changes you can see today on Saskatchewan.ca.
We're making it easier to find services on Saskatchewan.ca by putting all government services in one spot.
To do that, our header has change by adding "Services" into our global navigation space.
We've built a single login and password for all online government services.
As we roll out new or improved services you will only have one user name and password you need to remember.
We've built a single place for Saskatchewan people to manage their profile information.
Enter that basic information like your name and contact details once and we’ll make sure that any service you access through our sign-in space gets it without you having to type it in again and again.
These are just the starting points. We need these foundations in place to transform the way you interact with the Government of Saskatchewan.
The more tangible changes come with our new approach to each and every service we design. We’ve got lots of details on this if you’re interested but the major difference is we are taking those cumbersome old government forms and service processes and turning them into services that are easy to understand, complete and track.
This won’t happen overnight
It’s a multiple-year journey. But service by service, we are committed to improving your experience with the Government of Saskatchewan. For now we are in pilot mode so our list of services is extremely limited. You can view the list of participating services, and we will continue to update it as we move beyond the pilot stage.
Making this investment in digital government saves you time and stress, and saves everyone’s tax dollars. Success stories from places like the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States show us that by investing in digital we can significantly reduce your time dealing with government and we can reduce average service transaction costs by 25%! In the United Kingdom, over a two-year period, they invested $155 million and produced $1 billion in savings for taxpayers!
