Amendment to Directive PNG017: Measurement Requirements for Oil and Gas Operations

The Energy Regulation Division of the Ministry of Energy and Resources has concluded consultations with the oil and gas industry on the proposed amendments to Directive PNG017: Measurement Requirements for Oil and Gas Operations. The key proposed amendments will clarify timeframes for gas-oil ratio (GOR) testing requirements for new non-heavy oil wells and will introduce GOR testing exception criteria. The proposed amendments will also make numerous housekeeping changes and clarify existing requirements.

Further details on the proposed amendment may be found in the Notice of Proposed Directive Amendments. Inquiries regarding the proposed regulatory enhancements may be directed to the ER Service Desk at er.servicedesk@gov.sk.ca.

A link to the finalized Directive and to a document outlining the ministry's responses to feedback received during the consultation process may be found in Bulletin BT2022-008.
