On August 21, 2020, Justice Minister and Attorney General Don Morgan announced that the Government of Saskatchewan is working to develop new provincial legislation to prevent human trafficking. The legislation would be aimed at providing civil remedies to human trafficking victims, which could include protection orders, search warrant provisions and a new tort of human trafficking.
During the development of this legislation, the government sought feedback.
A discussion paper was made available and comments were accepted until September 23, 2020.
