Government of Saskatchewan Senior Leadership Changes

Deputy Minister to the Premier Cam Swan today announced changes to senior leadership of the Saskatchewan Public Service.

Effective immediately, Mike Carr has been appointed Deputy Minister of Central Services.  Carr was most recently Deputy Minister of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety since 2010.  Carr previously served as the Associate Deputy Minister, Advanced Education, Employment and Labour and has held many senior leadership positions in the private sector.

Richard Murray assumes the role of Deputy Minister of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety.  In his 30 years with government, Murray has served as Deputy Minister of Central Services since 2015 and previously served as Assistant Deputy Minister of Facilities Management, Government Services.

Tammy Kirkland has been appointed Deputy Minister of Social Services.  Kirkland has extensive experience with the Government of Saskatchewan having served as Deputy Minister of Government Relations and First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs since 2016 and previously as Assistant Deputy Minister of Social Services and Assistant Deputy Minister of Corrections and Public Safety.

Greg Miller has been appointed Deputy Minister of Government Relations and First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs.  Miller has served as Deputy Minister of Social Services since 2015 and previously as Associate Deputy Minister of Education with responsibility for the area of Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 education.

“These deputies have made significant contributions to their files since joining their respective ministries and have impressive records with the Government of Saskatchewan. I wish to thank them for accepting their new assignments and I am confident they will continue their excellent work in their new roles,” Swan said.
