PRAIRIE NORTH REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITY MEMBERS REAPPOINTED

Health Minister John Nilson today announced the reappointment of nine current members of the Prairie North Regional Health Authority to a second three-year term.

"The health authority members, under the leadership of chairperson Bonnie O'Grady have served the community well since the creation of regional health authorities in 2002," Nilson said. "I am pleased that we can call upon them for three more years of service."

He also confirmed the appointment of Muriel Conacher of Mervin as vice-chairperson, replacing Zane Hansen, who resigned from the health authority in January.

Reappointed to the regional health authority are:

· Bonnie O'Grady, Neilburg, chairperson
· Muriel Conacher, Mervin, vice-chairperson
· Ben Christensen, North Battleford
· Vicki Helm, Lloydminster
· Joan Hill, Goodsoil
· Donald Whittaker, Marwayne, AB
· Glenn Wouters, Meota
· Elaine Yaychuk, Meadow Lake
· Donald C. Young, Maidstone

The appointments are in effect until July 2008. The authority is responsible for the planning, organization, delivery and evaluation of health services within the health region.

Nilson expressed thanks for past service to Hansen, Brenda Gregor-Nightingale of Meadow Lake who also resigned, and Ruth McCaffrey from Edam, who declined reappointment.

The resulting three vacancies will be filled in the coming months. Residents interested in putting their names forward for the regional health authority should contact Saskatchewan Health.
