During centennial celebrations at Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Environment Minister David Forbes unveiled a Centenary plaque to recognize the province's $385,000 investment in the park.Centenary funds were used to construct a barrier-free accessible interpretive trail with signage, replace the bath change house, replace playground equipment and upgrade and expand campground electrification at Kimball Lake.
"We are pleased and proud to dedicate these facilities to the people of Saskatchewan," Forbes said. "I can think of no better way to commemorate our province's first 100 years than by making an investment that will benefit park visitors well into the province's second century. Through this investment, we are ensuring that Meadow Lake Provincial Park will be a safe and enjoyable place to visit for years to come."
Through the four-year, $120 million Centenary Fund program, the parks program received $6.8 million to complete important capital projects for Saskatchewan's centennial.
