NEW WESTERN DEVELOPMENT MUSEUM BOARD MEMBERS

Released on January 28, 2002

Three new members have been appointed to the Western Development Museum

Board.

The new members are:

William N. Macza, Saskatoon;

Bruce Dalshaug, North Battleford; and

Russ Krywulak, Regina.

"I'm pleased these knowledgeable people have agreed to provide their time

to the work of the Western Development Museum," Municipal Affairs and

Housing Minister Ron Osika said. "Saskatchewan is home to incredible

stories of accomplishment and hardship, adversity and success, and it is

important to preserve these accounts for future generations."

The new board members will join the following reappointed members:

Chairperson Kate Waygood, Saskatoon;

Gary Loutzenhiser, Moose Jaw;

Tina Dryhorub, Richard;

Nick Catchuk, Yorkton;

Kae Henley, Yorkton; and

Russel Johnson, Moose Jaw.

The Western Development Museum was established by legislation in 1949 to

preserve the province's history. Today there are four exhibit branches in

Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon and Yorkton. Each relies on a

combination of visitor admission fees, gift shop and other customer

services sales, membership contributions and provincial government grant

revenue to operate. In addition to featuring artifacts, the museums

annually attract visitors to shows and festivals.
