Major renovations are planned for Kindersley Composite School withconstruction anticipated to start in June 2001 and to be completed by
August 2002.
"Kindersley Composite School has served students very well for the past 39
years," Education Minister Jim Melenchuk said. "However, the time has come
to upgrade this school and provide a more comfortable and modern education
facility."
Renovations to the Grade 8 - 12 school include upgrades to the fire alarm
system, installation of sprinklers throughout the school, relocation and an
increase in the size of the band room, mechanical upgrades and a partial
roof replacement.
"This announcement takes us one step closer to achieving our goal of
addressing our highest priority school construction projects," Melenchuk
added.
Saskatchewan Education and the school division will share the project
cost. The estimated cost is $4 million, with the department's share
approximately $2 million.
Last year the Kindersley School Division hired an architect to design the
renovations.
The design has been completed and the school division will soon be
tendering the project.
