TAX REVIEW COMMITTEE EXPANDS CONSULTATION

Saskatchewan's Personal Income Tax Review Committee has launched a web site and

scheduled additional meetings in Saskatoon and Regina.



"The committee is determined to provide for the greatest possible input from

Saskatchewan people on this issue," Finance Minister Eric Cline said. "These

two new initiatives will ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate in

the consultation."



The committee has added evening meetings in both Saskatoon and Regina to

accommodate interested parties who cannot attend during the day. The

remaining public meetings are as follows:

The new web site, which includes background information about the committee,

the consultation process and the "tax on income" concept, can be found at

http://www.gov.sk.ca/finance/pitrc.htm. Residents wishing to obtain background

information by mail or fax may call toll-free, 1-888-287-8868.



The committee will accept written proposals up to September 15, 1999.
