SHIN CHIEF EXECUTIVE NAMED

The Saskatchewan Health Information Network (SHIN) Board has appointed

Gordon Nystuen as Chief Executive Officer for SHIN.



Mr. Nystuen comes to his new position from the Saskatchewan

Transportation Company where he has served as President since March

1997. Mr. Nystuen has held a variety of public service posts

including president and chief executive officer of the Saskatchewan

Liquor and Gaming Authority and senior associate deputy minister of

Finance. Prior to entering public service, Nystuen operated a family

seed farm and worked in the financial sector.



Nystuen brings to this post both a solid understanding of Saskatchewan

and excellent management skills.



Nystuen said he looks forward to the challenge of demonstrating

Saskatchewan's continued leadership in health through the

establishment of a health information network.



"What we accomplish through SHIN today will serve the health system

for generations to come," Nystuen said.
