PAVING ANNOUNCED ON HIGHWAY 14

Released on January 21, 1999

Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced

awarding of a paving contract on Highway 14 beginning at Perdue and

proceeding 10.2 km west of the village.

"The project is valued at more than $1.6 million and will see an

estimated 24 jobs used in its completion," Bradley said.

ASL Paving Ltd. was awarded the contract as the lowest of seven

bidders. The project is expected to start on the road in early May

1999 and is planned for completion by the end of June 1999. The

$1.6 million cost includes department materials and resources and is

part of the $44.7 million winter tender schedule announced by Minister

Bradley in November 1998.

"By tendering now, as part of the winter tender schedule, we can

ensure more projects are completed as planned," Bradley said. "We are

continuing to work hard to improve our highways right across

Saskatchewan."
