Legislative Framework Workshops

1.  Background

The Building Standards and Licensing Branch offers workshops to building owners, industry, municipal officials, building officials, fire inspectors, and other interested code users so that they may better understand the legislative framework concerning:

  • The Uniform Building and Accessibility Standards Act (UBAS Act);
  • The Uniform Building and Accessibility Regulations (the UBAS Regulations); and 
  • The Building and Accessibility Standards Administration Regulations (the BASA Regulations).

Before attending this workshop, you should review the most recent National Building Code (NBC); the Administrative Requirements for use with the NBC 1985; the UBAS Act; the UBAS Regulations; the BASA Regulations; the Building Bylaw Handbook; and the Draft Building Bylaw.

This free two-day workshop is planned for May 2018; details are below:
