The National Building Code (NBC), the National Fire Code (NFC) and the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) were recently updated. As a result, the province is proposing to:
- adopt and implement the NBC 2015 and the NFC 2015 across Saskatchewan on July 1, 2017
- adopt the NECB 2015 on July 1, 2017, but implement it province-wide on January 1, 2019
The Building Standards and Licensing Branch is offering workshops that building owners, industry, municipal officials, building officials, fire inspectors, and other interested code users may wish to attend to learn more about the adoption of these codes in Saskatchewan.
