Cropportunities provides useful information for farmers and others working in agriculture. The 2026 event takes place in Swift Current on March 12 at the Sky Centre in the Living Sky Casino. Make sure to secure your seat by registering though Eventbrite today.

The event will offer plenty of opportunities to learn and connect with others in the agriculture industry. The day begins with application specialist, Tom Wolf, who will review new spray technology, including the growing use of drones in crop spraying. Afterward, the Wheatland Conservation Area team will share updates on their research and demonstration projects, such as a trial on establishing nitrogen and seeding rate recommendations for composite yellow mustard. They’ll also highlight additional trials that provide practical insights you can apply on your farm or share with clients. More detailed project information can be found on the Wheatland Conservation Area website.

Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) and the ministry will provide updates on program and funding opportunities that may be applicable to your operation. Richard Dyck from SCIC will explain any changes or improvements to insurance programs. Jason Falk from the ministry will go over the Farm and Ranch Water Infrastructure Program and the Resilient Agricultural Landscapes Program.

Bill Greuel, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, will join in the afternoon to speak about international trade and what it means for Saskatchewan producers.

To wrap up the day, Shanna Stolhandske-Dale, from Seed Solutions Seed Labs, will talk about seed testing. She will explain how testing is done and what the results mean for farmers making seeding and management decisions.

The ministry is proud to partner with Wheatland Conservation Area, the Pioneer Co op Ag Team and Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation to bring you Cropportunities 2026. Thank you to our gold sponsors which include NuFarm, Syngenta, Bayer, BASF, ADAMA and Farm Credit Canada.
