Do you have thoughts on the future of municipal leadership in Saskatchewan?

The Municipal Leadership Development Program (MLDP) sub-committee wants to hear from you!

The MLDP is undergoing a review to ensure its continued impact and to improve engagement among municipal leaders. We are seeking your input to inform the future direction of the MLDP and encourage you to share your thoughts by filling out the survey by May 30.

The Provincial Library and Literacy Office is proposing amendments to The Public Libraries Act, 1996, based on requests received by the Minister of Education.

• The Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association City Mayors’ Caucus has requested changes to the education requirements for Public Library Directors and to increase the number of members that a municipal library board may have.
• The City of Lloydminster has requested that The Saskatchewan Public Libraries Act be the only one in force in that city.

On April 16, The Building Code Amendment Regulations, 2025 were filed and came into force.

These regulations make Tier 1 the minimum energy efficiency standard in the National Building Code of Canada for Part 9 buildings.

Owners still have the option of building to any higher standard they wish.

The Government of Saskatchewan is reducing Education Property Tax (EPT) mill rates for all property classes in 2025. Due to revaluation, individual ratepayers may see increases or decreases in their EPT based on how their property assessment changed in relation to similar properties.
