Feedback Requested on WCB Board Governance and Appeals

Released on May 23, 2017

Following the release of the Workers’ Compensation Act Committee of Review (COR) report in November 2016, the government is seeking input on the legislative changes recommended by the committee.

The Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety is accepting written submissions on proposed legislative amendments to diversify the board structure and modernize the final level of appeal process.

“Our consultation will focus particularly on board governance and the appeals process,” Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan said.  “Following this process, we will draft legislative amendments in time for the fall 2017 sitting of the Legislature.”

Anyone who would like to provide written feedback can find the consultation paper at www.saskatchewan.ca/public-consultations.  Submissions can be emailed to legislation.labour@gov.sk.ca or mailed to the ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety at 300-1870 Albert Street in Regina, S4P 4W1.

The deadline for submission is June 30.
