Two Saskatchewan companies pleaded guilty to violations of occupational health and safety regulations.Dalton Parisian was fined $3,750 plus a $1,500 surcharge in Regina Provincial Court on May 25, 2017. Parisian pleaded guilty to contravening subsection 17(2) of the regulations (fail to ensure that the workers under the supervisor’s direction comply with the Act and any regulations made pursuant to the Act that apply to the place of employment, in particular subsection 116(2) of The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996 which stipulates that a worker is to use a fall protection system at a temporary or permanent work area where a worker may fall three metres or more, resulting in a serious injury to a worker).

In an unrelated matter, Aesthetic Developments Inc. pleaded guilty to contravening subsection 116(2) of the regulations (being an employer, failed to ensure that workers use a fall protection system at a temporary or permanent work area where a worker may fall three metres or more).
