Celebrate Christmas in Victorian Style This Year

Released on December 5, 2017

Join in the fun as the Provincial Capital Commission hosts the eighth annual Old-fashioned Victorian Christmas at Government House.  The festivities take place on Friday, December 8 from 4-8 p.m. at Government House in Regina, 4607 Dewdney Avenue.

Everyone is invited to this free family event to enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, cookie decorating, caroling, and children’s Christmas stories.  This event is a great opportunity to explore the Amédée Forget Museum.  Children can look forward to a special guest from the North Pole.  Family photos will be taken inside, or you may wish to take your own photo outside at this year’s special picture frame ice sculpture.

“Government House will be adorned with its finest holiday décor, to welcome visitors of all ages,” Minister Responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Christine Tell said.  “This is a fun family event that provides a glimpse back in time and allows everyone to share in the traditions practiced in days of Christmas past.”

Anyone wishing for a copy of their family photo can download them after the event from www.facebook.com/governmenthouse.  For more information about the Old-fashioned Victorian Christmas, call 306-787-9261.
