In "N" Out Construction Inc. Fined for OHS Violation

In “N” Out Construction Inc. of Moose Jaw was fined $10,500 after it pleaded guilty to one count under Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation. 

The fine was levied in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on February 1, 2016. In “N” Out Construction Inc. pleaded guilty for failing to ensure a hole or opening was covered with a securely installed covering. One other charge was stayed. 

On September 20, 2013 a worker was seriously injured after he fell through an opening in the floor and landed on a rebar dowel. Everyone is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. Employers carry the greatest responsibility. The Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety works to eliminate injuries and illnesses through education and inspections. There are repercussions for employers and workers who fail to comply with OHS legislation.
