The Government of Saskatchewan is pleased to proclaim September 27 to October 3 as Saskatchewan Innovation Week.The week provides an opportunity to recognize the importance of innovation in the province, and an opportunity to promote and celebrate the innovative people, organizations and companies in our communities.
“Innovation is an important part of Saskatchewan’s history, and continues to play a key role in the diversification and competitiveness of our economy,” Innovation Minister Jeremy Harrison said. “In the past eight years, significant investments have been made in public research and innovation, helping attract world-class researchers and research institutions. This week we are proud to recognize these achievements, along with the many people that are advancing innovation in Saskatchewan.”
Innovation Saskatchewan has helped drive the province’s innovation agenda with significant support and/or investment in research, including the Canadian Light Source, the Global Institute for Food Security, the Sylvia Fedoruk Center for Nuclear Innovation, the International Minerals Innovation Institute, the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization-International Vaccine Centre, the Petroleum Technology Research Centre and the Saskatchewan Research Council.
