Report on Losses - Saskatchewan School Divisions

Released on July 6, 2015

To align processes with other government agencies, the Ministry of Education has tabled two confirmed losses reported by school divisions with the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

This report is the first of its kind for Boards of Education.

The ministry, in consultation with the Saskatchewan Association of School Business Officials, is developing a policy for school divisions to report these types of instances quarterly.

The policy will be in place at the start of the 2015 school division fiscal year, beginning September 1, 2015.

This new policy will have school divisions use the same reporting processes that are used by executive government, crown corporations and health regions.
