The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) has issued a Cease Trade Order against RTG Direct Trading Group Ltd., a corporation in the Marshall Islands, and RTG Direct Trading Limited. These two RTG Trading entities also have an address in London, U.K.The order directs that all trading in securities by RTG Direct Trading Group Ltd. and RTG Direct Trading Limited cease up to and including September 11, 2015. The order may be extended as necessary.
“We’re seeing a definite increase in attempts by unregistered companies to solicit Saskatchewan residents,” FCAA Enforcement Branch Deputy Director Ed Rodonets said. “The first thing Saskatchewan residents need to do if they receive unsolicited calls or are approached online by offshore investment companies is check to see if those companies are registered to do business in Saskatchewan.”
RTG Direct Trading Group Ltd. and RTG Direct Trading Limited maintain a website at www.rtgtrading.com. The website offers information and facilitates trades in binary options. RTG Direct Trading Group Ltd. and RTG Direct Trading Limited appear to be soliciting investors in Saskatchewan without registration, putting them in violation of provincial securities laws.
Investor alerts have recently been issued warning investors about unregistered binary options companies by several provincial jurisdictions and the Canadian Securities Administrators.
Investigations have shown that many of these companies are interconnected and operate under several names. Once one is exposed, it usually leads to the identification of others. RTG Direct Trading Group Ltd. and RTG Direct Trading Limited have been notified of the order and have the opportunity to respond to the FCAA.
Investors can check the registration status of any person or company selling investments by using the Canadian Securities Administrators’ National Registration Search database at www.aretheyregistered.ca.
