OWNER OF SASKATOON COMPANY GUILTY OF LABOUR STANDARDS VIOLATIONS

Mark Holinaty, operating as Holinaty Concrete Services Ltd. in Saskatoon pleaded guilty to six charges under The Labour Standards Act in Saskatoon Provincial Court on September 19.

Holinaty pleaded guilty to six charges of failing to pay final wages within 14 days of termination.  Each fine was $250, plus a victim surcharge of $60 for a total of $1,860 in fines.

Holinaty pleaded guilty to all charges as an individual.  Six charges against the company were stayed.

The Labour Standards Division of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety supports fair and equitable workplace practices through public awareness and enforcement of The Labour Standards Act and regulations as well as other labour legislation.  Whenever necessary, violators will be prosecuted.
