The installation of culverts on Highway 924 in northwestern Saskatchewan and Highway 6 near Gronlid are among the new maintenance and construction projects underway this week.
“The government is responsible for managing more than 62,000 culverts and they are more important than ever during wet years such as this one,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister Don McMorris said. “Maintaining and rehabilitating this system of culverts is a significant part of our overall goal of ensuring good drainage and the safety of Saskatchewan motorists.”
The work on Highway 924 involves replacing a bridge with a culvert and the work on Highway 6 is the replacement of an existing culvert with a new one.
Other new maintenance and upgrade work underway in the province this week includes a bridge replacement on Highway 9 near Preeceville, repaving on Highway 2 near Prince Albert and resurfacing on Highway 32 near Leader.
The weekly construction update provides Saskatchewan residents with the latest details on projects underway to help to plan safe and efficient travel throughout the summer and fall.
