The return to sunny conditions means crews will be hard at work on a number of new highway construction projects this week, including a $9.8 million repave of 33 kilometres of Highway 6 near Naicam.
“In spite of some recent wet weather, crews are making good progress on the many construction projects underway in Saskatchewan,” Minister of Highways and Infrastructure Don McMorris said. “New projects are added each week and it’s important for drivers to slow down in the work zone so everyone gets home safe at the end of the day.”
In addition to the Naicam area work, other new maintenance and upgrade projects underway this week include Highway 6 from the U.S. border to south of the junction with Highway 13, Highway 21 northwest of Wilbert and Highway 55 near Canwood.
Drivers must slow to 60 km/hr in work zones or else face fines starting at $300.
The weekly construction update provides Saskatchewan residents with the latest details on projects underway to help plan safe and efficient travel throughout the summer and fall.
