More Than 50 Highway Construction Projects are Underway in Saskatchewan

Highways and Infrastructure Minister Jim Reiter is reminding motorists to be aware of potential construction zones as they head out on the road for the Victoria Day long weekend.

"I'm urging drivers to obey all flag people and slow down to 60 km/hr when passing workers and equipment in the Orange Zones," Reiter said. "We want to protect the people, who are working hard to preserve and improve the transportation system in Saskatchewan."

This weekly report is available to the public, throughout the construction season, to help plan safe and efficient road trips. Details about the work, its potential impact on traffic and information about the different projects at various stages of construction can be found at www.highways.gov.sk.ca.

Additional travel information regarding emergency road closures due to severe weather and other events, the status of ferries and barges, along with other road activities, can be found on the Highway Hotline at www.highways.gov.sk.ca/road-conditions. It's also available by calling 306-787-7623 in Regina, 306-933-8333 in Saskatoon, the SaskTel cellular network at *ROAD as well as toll-free across Canada at 1-888-335-7623.
