Motorists are advised to be aware of upcoming and ongoing provincial highway construction projects while travelling throughout Saskatchewan.
"Remember to be cautious and alert when approaching any road construction or highway activity ahead," Highways and Infrastructure Minister Jim Reiter said. "After all, the people working out there are building and maintaining the transportation system for all of our benefit. As always, obey all flag persons and slow to 60 km/hr when passing highway workers and equipment in the Orange Zone."
New activity underway for this update period includes work on Highway 5 west of Humboldt. This is permanent repair is expected to reduce the risk of the highway flooding again and restore the road to its original width and speed limit. We are pleased to see work on Highway 5 reach this next important step and move from the completed short-term fix earlier this summer to a now permanent repair this fall to help prevent repeated flooding.
