Highways and Infrastructure Minister Wayne Elhard wants to remind motorists that several highway construction projects are underway throughout Saskatchewan this weekend so they can plan a safe and efficient route to their destination.
"We have a tremendous amount of construction going on this summer so please remember to slow to 60 km/h when passing highway workers and equipment, use caution and be prepared to stop as directed," Elhard said.
Highway 1
• The new twinning lanes of Highway 1 from the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Border to Whitewood are under construction adjacent to the existing lanes.
Highway 2
• Highway 2 from its junction with Highway 264 to 34 km south of its junction with Highway 916 is being surfaced.
• Highway 2 is being paved from 18 km north of Imperial to Watrous.
Highway 8
• Highway 8 is under construction in the following areas:
o From its junction with Highway 361 to 10 km south of its junction with Highway 13.
o From its junction with Highway 13 to its junction of Highway 48.
o From 24 km north of Moosomin to 16 kilometers south of Qu'Appelle.
Highway 10
• Highway 10 from 8 km west of Fort Qu'Appelle to 46 kilometers east of Balgonie is being surfaced with traffic reduced to one lane.
Highway 11
• Highway 11 from north of Osler to south of Hague has nearby twinning construction. Be aware of blowing dust.
Highway 13
• Highway 13 from its junction with highway 34 to east of its junction with Highway 36 is under construction.
• Highway 13 from 6 km west of its junction with Highway 36 to about 16 km east of Assiniboia is also under construction.
Highway 20
• Highway 20 from 26 km north of its junction with Highway 15 to near its junction with Highway 16 is being paved. Traffic is reduced to one lane traffic. Please be prepared to stop and be aware of delays.
Highway 21
• Highway 21 from 1 km north of Pierceland to 11 km south of Meadow Lake Provincial Park is under construction. Traffic is reduced to one lane.
Highway 26
• Highway 26 from about St. Walburg north for 13 km is being surfaced. Traffic is reduced to one lane.
Highway 48
• Highway 48 from 23 km west of its junction with Highway 8 to Highway 9 is under construction.
Highway 55
• The Red Earth Access from 4 km north of its junction with Highway 55 to 8.5 km north of its junction with Highway 55 is under construction. Traffic is reduced to one lane.
Highway 155
• Highway 155 from 18 km north of its junction with Highway 165 to 64 km south of Buffalo Narrows is under construction.
Highway 219
• Highway 219 south of Saskatoon and near the Whitecap First Nation is being paved.
