Highways and Infrastructure Minister Wayne Elhard reminds motorists to drive safely this Labour Day weekend and be aware of new and ongoing projects when travelling.
"Take this work into account to plan the best and safest route," Elhard said.
"Slow to 60 km/h when passing highway workers and equipment, be alert and be prepared to stop as directed."
New Work (Please see backgrounder for a list of ongoing work)
Highway 55
- Construction is expected to begin on a detour, which will later accommodate traffic when bridge construction starts on Highway 55 over Red Earth Creek. All of this work is taking place on Highway 55, about 45 km east of its junction with Highway 123.
- Twenty-three kilometres of resurfacing is taking place on Highway 55 starting at Smeaton and heading west. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
