Dr. Laurier Schramm, B.Sc., Ph. D., P. Chem., is the new President and
Chief Executive Officer of the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC). The
SRC's Board of Directors announced the appointment today.
Dr. Schramm is a recognized figure in Canada's applied research and
development community, most recently as vice president of the Alberta
Research Council. In addition to his strong academic, research and
management background, Schramm brings vision, enthusiasm and personality to
the SRC.
"The SRC and the province are most fortunate that, having grown-up in both
Regina and Saskatoon, Dr. Schramm understands Saskatchewan's strengths and
opportunities as well as the unique challenges we face," Minister

looking forward to working with Dr. Schramm and the highly professional SRC
team to increase the research council's value to the business community,
our stakeholders and the people of Saskatchewan."
The mission of SRC, a Treasury Board Crown Corporation, is to help the
people of Saskatchewan strengthen the economy with quality jobs and a
secure environment through research, development, and the transfer of
innovative scientific and technological solutions, applications and
