General Proficiency Awards

The General Proficiency Awards (GPA) program provides awards to 500 high school graduate students in Saskatchewan who exhibit the highest level of achievement.  The Ministry of Education allocates a number of awards to each school division based on the number of Grade 12 students in that division.

Nomination Process

Students must be nominated by their school principal.  Principals nominate recipients based on Grade 12 marks and ministry eligibility criteria.  School divisions verify, select and submit nominees to the Ministry of Education every September.  Each GPA recipient will receive a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Education and a cheque in the amount of $400.
