Prekindergarten Basics Workshop

The Ministry of Education hosts a Prekindergarten Basics Workshop each September for new Prekindergarten teachers, principals, educational assistants or other education professionals involved with Prekindergarten.


1. Benefits

The Prekindergarten Basics Workshop:

  • provides background on Saskatchewan’s Prekindergarten program;
  • highlights program documents and reporting processes; and
  • describes major program components.

An experienced Prekindergarten teacher will also provide information on:

  • holistic child development;
  • home visits;
  • family engagement;
  • scheduling;
  • classroom environment; and
  • documentation of learning.

2. Eligibility

The Prekindergarten Basics Workshop is open to education professionals who are new to the Prekindergarten program.

This valuable workshop is for:

  • Teachers
  • Principals
  • Educational assistants
  • Support services personnel or administrators 

3. How To Apply

Once a date has been announced you will need to:

  1. Register online for the workshop that you would like to attending.

When attending a workshop, you will need to bring:

  1. Better Beginnings, Better Futures
  2. Play and Exploration: Early Learning Program Guide
  3. Family Engagement in Prekindergarten
  4. Copy of children’s schedule for the day

4. Apply

Workshops are offered every September. Registration for the 2016 September offerings will be available in August.
