Enhancing Interactions in Child Care Centres Workshop

The Enhancing Interactions Initiative is an intensive professional development opportunity for licensed child care centres. The focus of the initiative is on language development and interaction styles of young children.

The Enhancing Interactions Initiative provides knowledge and training on language development and positive interactions with children.

This initiative has four objectives:

  1. To enhance educator knowledge of language-rich environments.
  2. To apply best practices through a focus on interactions.
  3. To provide feedback and guidance to make positive changes.
  4. To sustain growth.

2. Eligibility

All licensed child care centres are welcome to apply for the Enhancing Interactions Initiative.

3. How To Apply

  1. Complete the Enhancing Interactions Initiative Application.
  2. Submit the application to:

  3. Applications must be received by the Ministry of Education by the deadline.
  4. Applicants will be notified if their site was selected to be part of the Enhancing Interactions Initiative.

The application form will be available in the new fiscal year.

5. Further Information

A minimum of 10 participants is needed for the session to run.  There is space for a maximum of 15 participants per project.

Learning sessions:

  • Happen over a period of about four months; and
  • Include eight interactive and instructional large group sessions.

Projects sessions are held from September 1 to January or January 1 to May 31.
